YRB: How did you get your start in music?
Jaiden: I started out writing and singing background [vocals]. My first gig was with Lauryn Hill, and from there I just started putting in for different artists and writing for different people.
Growing up on New York's Long Island in a musical family, Jaiden naturally took to music and performing. Much like many artists, he got his start in the church choir. By age 13, he was recording with professional adult gospel choirs and singing in churches across the country.
He's toured and sang background for Jay-Z, Diddy, Alicia Keys and John Legend. He is a multi-talented songwriter, pianist, producer, and has a four octave range. As of late, garnering the title of a BET “Music Matters” artist has opened many mainstream doors for the rising star.
After he appeared on BET’s 106 & Park to premiere his new video for “"Ain’t Enough"” from his forthcoming mixtape Shades of Grey: The Cure Suite II, which has generated thousands of downloads - the Jaiden Train has been in full locomotion.
Jaiden has become one of the most well rounded artists to hit the scene in more than a decade. Currently in the works, a full-length solo album slated for a fall release, along with another tour with Chris Brown. With a rapidly growing fan base, there is no question that Jaiden’s newly found mainstream success will serve as the perfect remedy for his solo success.
