C. Kimberly Epps

Charmain Kimberly Epps is an Akron Ohio native and is hailed as one of the most progressive young publicists in the industry. Garnering the title of "a Jill of all trades" Kimberly has single handedly built a company that thrives on the success of her talents in securing mainstream media placements for her growing client roster. She attended Alabama A& M University where she majored in journalism. After a few years of working in several fields of the entertainment industry, she decided to move to Atlanta and launch Purple Label PR in early 2009. "It's amazing what you can do with $250.00 dollars, prayer, a blackberry and a dream, because that's really all I had at the time." says Kimberly.Three months into starting Purple Label PR she signed her first client Producer Fatboi, who was at the height of his career after producing the Billboard topping hit 'Wasted' for rapper Gucci Mane. Since then, she has secured her clients major placements with networks and magazines like MTV, BET, CBS, Essence, XXL Magazine, The New York Times, USA Today, ESPN and many more."Signing Fatboi really opened the door for me to work with other great artists. I used the few connections that I had starting out and things just took off from there. My goal early on was to remain focused, consistent, and not to allow myself to get caught up in the hype of being surrounded by celebrities." Kimberly statesShe credits her success as an entrepreneur to her parents who both instilled in her the value of prayer, hard work and believing in yourself. " I wouldn't say that I have offically "made it " so to speak, but I have definitely come a long way from sleeping on my sisters couch, working unfulfilling jobs and trying to get my business off of the ground." says Kimberly. Now at the age of 29, Kimberly resides on the West Coast in pursuit of expanding the Purple Label PR brand to new heights. "This is a tough business, I am building a brand that will allow my clients, myself and my company to be resilient and relevant in this industry - I'm not taking my foot off of the gas, entertainment PR is just the tip of the iceberg for me."
